The concept is great, the actual racing part should perhaps been made easier, more in the style of Grand Prix Circuit. To summarise, the original Amiga version was ahead of its time at least two years, the Commie version was the best what was technically possible. Steerage on the Commie works perfect, and you really have top learn the 16 tracks of the actual 1986 season (ironically, one of the worst in Ferrari's history). Yet it remains playable, which means that you can a whole lot of fun once you get used to the racing part. Even in the original Amiga version, it seems to take eons to complete a lap, ad the graphics are too slow. The weak point of this game, however, has always been the racing as such.
It sure is a lot of fun trying out technical variants, while never getting too complicated. I have to say that I can completely understand those who are enthusiastic of this first approach in computer gaming history to actually simulate a complete Formula 1 season. This one seems to be one of the most controversial racing games for the Commie, judging on the variance of reviewers' scores.
